Unexpected deep bass

I was looking for a suitable soundbar with subwoofer for weeks. At first I almost bought an LG set but the brand has issues with connectivity and poor bass. Sony didn't meet my demand. Setup was the easiest I've seen of electronic devices. Just plug and play. The look is refined and modest, I fancy that. Big plus is the soundbar has no active lights while in use. Easy to use, the remote is simple. About the most important part. The sound. It is immersive. It fills our house's first floor with utterly deep wide bass. Enjoying watching movies that the soundbar provides with clear, surrounding sound. With this price it's more than I expected. I'm a bit audiophile that enjoys pure sound, the set has provided it at a larger part. Thank you Sony.

I bought this several month ago to pair with my Sony 75” X950G because that is what I was recommended. We get it home and set it up super easy and no problems. Then a few days go buy and it will not pair to the TV and there is no sound being put out. It would switch to Tv and audio system and the would say that audio system is unavailable. We called Magnolia and they said to bring it back since it was only a week so we are now on our second system. We have still had trouble with the sound being put out to the system. It has trouble connecting off of any thing we use to watch Tv. I will have to turn the system off. Then unplug the hdmi from the sound bar then turn the tv back on and plug it back in then change it in the setting to the audio system and it only works sometimes. So I have no clue what to do but for the price it should not be messing up!!!!

Sony sound bar incompatible with Sony TV

The bar sounds great. but it intermittently locks up to my 2 year old Sony TV when i turn on the TV. Why does the sound bar not always lock up to my TV instead of my TV speakers???? if you can tell me how to fix this i will give the bar a 5 star!

Thank you for the review and we do apologize for the inconvenience. If you're using the soundbar to your TV via HDMI ARC connection. In the HDMI settings of the TV, set the Audio Return Channel (ARC) or TV Audio Input mode to On or Auto.

This is an excellent product and the quality of sound is impressive for a compact system. I have been a Sony enthusiast for many years and currently have, and have owned, many Sony electrical products (phones, TV's, camera, laptop, radios, stereo systems, cassette players etc). But I am very disappointed to find that neither this Sony HT-G700 soundbar, or my Sony Bravia Television KD-43XG8096, are fitted with stereo audio-only input ports. I now have a problem, because I also use a Sony PS-LX300USB turntable to play my personal collection of vinyl records. Although responsive and after several emails, the Sony support service has not offered any helpful suggestions.

I brought my sony 3.1s recently as I also purchased a new TV. I have previously used good decent bars with previous TVs so after some research I decided to buy these The setup is very streight forward and easy to do, if your using streaming devices, consoles then the option of the ARC HDMI port is great and trouble free. Now onto the sound. This device works fantastic with Dolby Audio (ATMOS / DTX /DD) with films, games or just general TV and if your TV supports it Dolby Vision, the modes are excellent presets for whatever you are watching. Music sounds great good clarity and mids high notes are well balanced with deep rich bass. Again great hook ups via Bluetooth cables or wifi. Ive had a good few bars subs surrond sound systems over past few years and these sonys really stand out as good value for money really impressive sound and the ease of installation. These sonys are solid and a great addon to your entertainment I highly recommend them. Enjoy

Die Soundbar wurde gemeinsam mit dem neuen Fernseher, ebenfalls von Sony gekauft. Für den Preis liefert sie ein ordentliches Klangbild. Die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten sind etwas dürftig. Was besonders ärgerlich ist: Trotz Anschluss über HDMI hat die Soundbar bei jedem Einschalten erhebliche Verbindungsprobleme. Sony! Das geht besser.

Been using for 4 months. A little confusing when directions show to use HDMI cable and optical audio for any non-Sony TV brand when only optical audio is needed. Issue we have is only TV audio works—unable to get audio from Fire TV stick or BlueRay player. Also sometimes we have to turn the volume higher just to hear certain words.

Hi MarkR266, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your HTG700. We're sorry to hear for any confusion regarding the audio cable connection. If you've connected the soundbar to your TV via optical cable only, you will not be able to hear sound from your Fire TV stick or Bluray player, provided that the Fire stick and Bluray player are connected to the HDMI IN port of the soundbar. There are two ways to resolve this:
1. Connect your Fire TV stick and Bluray player directly to the HDMI Input ports of your TV and still use optical cable between the soundbar and TV.
2. Connect the soundbar to the TV via HDMI ARC (Your TV must have an HDMI ARC port).

Zum neuen Sony TV auch eine neue Soundbar gekauft.das ganze 1 Monat im Betrieb. Hab das ganze Dolby und Co gedöns abgeschaltet seit dem ist der Ton in Ordnung. Man darf ja den Preis nicht vergessen. Und dafür ist die Soundbar gut. Die Einstellung der Soundbar ist lästig da es leider nicht über den Fernseher sondern über das kleine Display läuft. Wie gesagt Preis Leistung ist gut.

Great sound and clear vocals

Had the soundbar and sub for a couple of weeks now. Set up was so easy through my Sony tv(HDMI arc port) optical is also connected but this only becomes available if you unplug HDMI. The subwoofer also connected immediately but over the first week it was quite temperamental and Sony have just updated the software and this has worked. The vocals are clearer than the HT-260 I had previously but still keeping the bass. Overall a vey good buy and happy to upgrade.

I bought the Sony sound bar along with the purchase of a Bravia 4k tv. I replaced a Bose 321 system with this sound bar because I wanted to move toward an integrated system I can control with one remote rather than four. I’ve since added a Sony 4k DVD player. My tv signal comes from a DirecTV 4k box. There has been a bit of a learning curve, but I am glad to say I can finally operate our entertainment system with one remote. The sound is not quite as “rich” as the Bose, but is more than adequate since I like having a system in which all the components “talk to each other.”

HT-G700 soundbar which is connected to my Phillips ambilight TV by ultra high speed HDMI cable eARC. Both have latest software but the audio keeps dropping out when you fast forward or rewind or change channel or sometimes for no apparent reason. Driving us mad!

Easy to set up in fact it took longer to open the box and take the Soundbar and Sub Woofer out than it took to set up. Display panel on the small side. Menu a bit fiddly to use. Pleased with product so far but not had a chance to play about with the settings yet.

Bin optimal begeistert von dem Klang. Höre mittlerweile mehr Konzerte und Musiksendungen. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen. Bis auf die Cashback Registrierung läuft alles problemlos. Die Registrierung ist äusserst kompliziert (gewollt?), da stürzt der Server ab, dann ist ein Leerzeichen zuviel, etzc.

Trying out different pre-programmed sound mode options and enabling the Voice mode function are some of the steps that we recommend to ensure optimal listening experience on this soundbar especially when watching movies and TV shows.

trés bonne reserve de puissance, voire impréssionante manque de clarté (son un peu étouffé) en mose musique Appareillage bluetooth rapide mais non compatible volume absolu ( pas de controle de volume via smartphone) Réveil de la barre via bluetooth OK, mais la barre allume la TV (HDMI CEC) et bascule en mode TV, donc obligé de débrancher le HDMI pour pouvoir ecouter de la musique...

Concernant la compatibilité de l'appareil, nous ne garantissons le bon fonctionnement qu'avec des produits Sony.

Overall very happy with this unit that replace an old 5.1 cinema system (Sony). Good sound when the wife isn't around. A bit disappointed with the speech enhancement feature, didn't seem to make much difference. Sometimes switch between signal sources I get no sound unless I switch the unit off and on again whereupon it seems to sort itself out.
