How to reset your home audio system to factory settings
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
The steps to reset your home audio system to the default settings vary depending on your model.

Resetting your home audio system
Notes:
- Use the buttons on the audio system to perform the steps below.
- All user-configured settings (e.g. preset radio stations, pairing registration information, clock) are reset to the default settings and will need to be re-configured.
- If you dispose of the audio system or give it to another person, reset it for security reasons.
CMT Series
Select your model below:
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(ON / STANDBY), VOL+ (VOLUME plus), and
(STOP) / CANCEL buttons to reset the system.
- Using a ballpoint pen or other pointed object, press the RESET button located at the bottom of the system.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), DIMMER, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons to reset the system.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), DISPLAY, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons until "RESET" appears on the display.
Note: All user-configured settings, except for the DVD settings, will be reset.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP),
(ON / STANDBY), and DSGX buttons to reset the system.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP),
(REWIND), and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons to reset the system.
- Press the power button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the DISPLAY, TUNER / BAND, and FUNCTION buttons until “COLD RESET” appears on the display.
Note: You can't reset the system to factory settings in Power Saving Mode.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), ENTER / START, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons to reset the system.
CMT-SBT20 / CMT-SBT20B / CMT-SBT40D / CMT-X3CD
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the FUNCTION and
(EJECT) buttons until "RESET" appears on the display.
- Disconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead) and confirm that the STANDBY indicator on the front of the device is not lit.
- Reconnect the power cord and press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the FUNCTION and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons until "RESET" appears on the display.

GTK Series
Select your model below:
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- While holding down the
(STOP) button, press and hold the FUNCTION button for about 3 seconds to reset the system.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the power button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the FUNCTION
PAIRING and VOLUME – (minus) buttons for more than 5 seconds to reset the system.
Note: The user-configured settings will reset after the (POWER),
(BLUETOOTH), and AUDIO IN indicators on the system flash for more than 3 seconds.
- Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the FUNCTION
PAIRING and VOLUME – (minus) buttons for more than 5 seconds to reset the system.
Note: The user-configured settings will reset after the (POWER),
(BLUETOOTH), USB, and AUDIO IN indicators on the system flash twice.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the power button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the FUNCTION and VOLUME – (minus) buttons for more than 5 seconds to reset the system.
Note: The user-configured settings will reset after all the indicators on the system flash for more than 3 seconds.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the FUNCTION/
PAIRING and – (VOLUME minus) buttons for more than 5 seconds to reset the system.
Note: The user-configured settings will reset after all the indicators on the system flash for more than 3 seconds.

MHC Series
Select your model below:
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), ENTER, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
MHC-EC55 / MHC-EC77 / MHC-GX99
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the PLAY MODE, FUNCTION, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons to reset the system.
MHC-EC69 / MHC-EC69T / MHC-EC79 / MHC-EC79T / MHC-EC99 / MHC-EC99T
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), CD, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons to reset the system.
Note: You can't reset the system to factory settings in Power Saving Mode.
MHC-GT111 / MHC-GT111Z / MHC-GT222 / MHC-GT44 / MHC-GT555
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP), ENTER, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons until “COLD RESET” appears on the display.
Note: You can't reset the system to factory settings in Power Saving Mode.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the ENTER and TUNING+ /
(FAST FORWARD) buttons for about 3 seconds until “RESET” appears on the display.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the ENTER and
(FAST FORWARD) buttons for about 3 seconds until “RESET” appears on the display.

After the reset completes, the system automatically reboots. Press the
(POWER) button to turn the system back on.
-
All user-configured settings, except for certain setup menu settings, will be reset.
MHC-GT7DW / MHC-V77DW / MHC-V77W
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.
- Press OPTIONS.
- Press the
(UP/DOWN ARROW) button repeatedly to select “SYSTEM”, then press
.
- Press the
(UP/DOWN ARROW) button repeatedly to select “RESET”, then press
.
- Press the
(UP/DOWN ARROW) button repeatedly to select “YES”, then press
.
“RESET” appears on the display.
MHC-GTX888 / MHC-GTX787 / MHC-GTX777
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP), DELAY, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons until “COLD RESET” appears on the display.
MHC-GZX33D / MHC-GZX55D / MHC-GZX88D
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP) and LED COLOR buttons for about 3 seconds until “RESET” appears on the display.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), ENTER, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons.
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- While holding down the DIGITAL button, press the DISPLAY button.
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the GUITAR and MEGA BASS buttons for about 3 seconds until “RESET” appears on the display.
Notes:
- For MHC-V43D / MHC-V73D: All user-configured settings will reset after all the indicators on the system flash for more than 3 seconds.
- After the reset completes, the system automatically reboots. Press the
(POWER) button to turn the system back on.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the power button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP) and
(FOLDER) buttons until "RESET" appears on the display.

Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).

Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.

At the same time, press and hold the FIESTA and GUITAR buttons for about 3 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.
Notes:
- The user-configured settings will reset after all the indicators on the system flash for more than 3 seconds.
- After the reset completes, the system automatically reboots. Press the
(POWER) button to turn the system back on.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP) and BASS BAZUCA buttons for about 3 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.

SHAKE Series
Select your model below:
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP) and LED COLOR buttons for about 3 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.
SHAKE-X10 / SHAKE-X10D / SHAKE-X30D / SHAKE-X70D
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(POWER) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the DJ OFF and
(FAST FORWARD) buttons for about 3 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.
Notes:
- After the reset completes, the system automatically reboots. Press the
(POWER) button to turn the system back on.
- All user-configured settings, except for some setup menu settings, will be reset.
SHAKE-X1D / SHAKE-X3D / SHAKE-X7D
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the DJ OFF and TUNING + buttons for about 3 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.
Note for the SHAKE-X1D: All user-configured settings, except for the SETUP settings, will be reset.

Other audio systems
Select your model below:
CHC Series
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), DISPLAY, and CD 1 buttons.
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button again to turn the system back on.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- While holding down the DISPLAY and FUNCTION buttons, press the TAPE button.
DHC Series
- Using a ballpoint pen or other pointed object, press the RESET button located on the back of the system.
- Press the power button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the NAME EDIT / CHARACTER, 1 / ALL, and UPPER DISPLAY buttons until "RESET OK!" appears on the display.
The system will turn off on its own. - Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
FST / RDH Series
FST-GTK11iP / FST-GTK33iP / RDH-GTK11iP / RDH-GTK33iP
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(PLAY / PAUSE) and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons until "RESET" appears on the display.
FST-GTK17iP / FST-GTK37iP / RDH-GTK17iP / RDH-GTK37iP
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON/STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- While holding down the FUNCTION button, press and hold the
(ON / STANDBY) button for about 3 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.
LBT Series
LBT-LX30 / LBT-LX5 / LBT-LX50 / LBT-LX6 / LBT-LX7 / LBT-LX8
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- At the same time, press the
(CLOCK) / CLOCK SET, ENTER, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- The next steps will depend on your audio system:
- For LBT-XB3: At the same time, press the GROOVE, ENTER / NEXT, and DISC 1 buttons.
- For LBT-XB5 / LBT-XB6: At the same time, press the SPECTRUM ANALYZER, ENTER, and DISC 1 buttons.
- Disconnect and reconnect the system's AC power cord (mains lead).
- Press the
(ON / STANDBY) button to turn on the system.
- At the same time, press and hold the
(STOP), DELAY, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons until “COLD RESET” appears on the display.
NAS Series
- At the same time, press the
(STOP), ENTER, and
(ON / STANDBY) buttons.
