This lens switches between circular fisheye and diagonal fisheye shooting by zooming. When shooting with a circular fisheye perspective, an image circle (effective image circle) is formed within the image, so the camera may operate differently than with a regular lens.
The following phenomena are characteristic of circular fisheye shooting.
- AF: If the AF area extends into the black area outside the image circle, AF may not focus properly.
Try shooting again with these settings:- Place the AF area near the center of the picture.
- Turn off subject recognition priority in AF.
- Turn off tracking.
- Auto Exposure: Metering includes the black area, so the image may become brighter.
Try the following:- Center-weighted metering
- Setting spot metering
- Exposure compensation
- EVF/monitor: The size of the image circle changes as you zoom. If the black area outside the effective image circle becomes larger, the brightness of the EVF or monitor may appear to change suddenly.
- Peripheral Illumination Correction: If you greatly increase the exposure with this enabled, black levels outside the effective image circle may be lifted (appear less black).
