How to choose the right USB cable for your camera?
Prepare a commercially available USB cable.
Note: Some functions may not be available depending on your camera model. For details, refer to your camera's Help Guide (available on the Sony Support website).
- The camera has a USB Type-C® port, so you'll need a USB cable that can be connected to USB Type-C.
Note: Use a USB cable that complies with the USB standard. - The camera supports USB Power Delivery (USB PD).
For battery charging, use a USB PD-compatible device with an output of 18W (9V/2A) or higher, and a USB Type-C (USB-C – USB-C) cable that is USB PD-compatible and rated for 3A or higher to enable fast charging. This information is usually available on the product, packaging or in the manual. - The camera supports SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps (USB 3.2).
Using a computer and a USB cable that support SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps (USB 3.2) enables faster communication. - If you're using the camera's USB streaming function, make sure your computer and USB cable support SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps (USB 3.2) for the following resolutions and frame rates:
- 4K (2160p) 30p
- 4K (2160p) 15p
- HD (1080p) 60p
- HD (1080p) 30p
