    The Touch Tracking function on my Sony camera does not work.

    The Touch Tracking function may be disabled under certain setting conditions.
    Below are examples of cases where the Touch Tracking function becomes disabled for each camera model. Please check your settings accordingly.

    IMPORTANT:
    • Touch Tracking requires Touch Operation to be On.
    • Available functions may vary depending on the camera model. Refer to your camera's Help Guide or instruction manual for details.

    For ILCE series, ZV-E series

    Touch Tracking is disabled in the following cases:

    • Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus in still image shooting mode
    • Smart Zoom is active in still image shooting mode
    • Clear Image Zoom is active in still image shooting mode
    • Digital Zoom is active in still image shooting mode
    • Bright Monitoring is active

    Note: On some models, when Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Tracking, switching Focus Mode to Manual Focus will change Touch Func. in Shooting to Touch Focus in still image shooting mode.

    For Compact Cameras (DSC-RX series, ZV series, etc.)

    Touch Tracking is disabled in the following cases:

    • Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus
    • Focus Mode is set to DMF
    • Smart Zoom is active
    • Clear Image Zoom is active
    • Digital Zoom is active
    • Scene Selection is set to Hand-held Twilight
    • Scene Selection is set to Anti Motion Blur
    • Smart Telecon is active
    • Subject Detection under Face/Eye AF Set. is set to Animal
    • File Format is set to XAVC S 4K and Proxy Recording is set to On *1
    • File Format is set to XAVC S 4K and outputting a movie via HDMI *1
    • Shooting mode is set to Sweep Panorama
    • SteadyShot is set to Intelligent Active in movie mode
    • Shooting movies with Record Setting set to 120p *2
    • *1 Except DSC-RX1RM3 and DSC-RX10M5
    • *2 Except DSC-RX10M5

    Note: On some models, when Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Tracking, switching Focus Mode to Manual Focus will change Touch Func. in Shooting to Touch Focus in still image shooting mode.

    For Video Cameras (ILME series, etc.)

    Touch Tracking is disabled in the following cases:

    • Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus *3
    • Smart Zoom is active
    • Clear Image Zoom is active
    • Digital Zoom is active
    • *3 On ILME-FX5, you can use Touch Tracking even when Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus by configuring Touch Function in MF to Tracking AF.

    Note: On some models, if the Focus Mode is switched to Manual Focus while Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Tracking, the setting will change to Touch Focus.
