Find out how to play music and stream audio content from your XperiaTM smartphone or tablet to wireless speakers or headphones using One-touch.

With One-touch you can connect to your speakers or headphones using NFC and Bluetooth and listen to audio content whether it's from the Walkman player, the YouTube app, Internet-radio apps like TuneIn Radio, or audio book apps.

How to use One-touch

To use One-touch, you first need to connect your XperiaTM phone or tablet to your speakers or headphones. This process uses NFC and Bluetooth to pair the devices. If you can't use NFC, you can still connect by installing the NFC Easy Connect app from the Google Play store .

How to connect an XperiaTM device to a Sony One-touch-compatible device

  1. On your phone or tablet, switch on NFC. See how to switch on NFC for your device
  2. With the XperiaTM device screen active - so not locked by a screen lock - touch your XperiaTM device on the speaker's NFC detection. This is detected by the (N-mark)
  3. The speaker or headphones will now turn on and pair with the phone using a Bluetooth connection.

How to turn on NFC for your XperiaTM device

Android 4.0 and 4.1

  1. Tap the Application screen icon and select Settings
  2. Select More and check NFC Allow data.

Android 2.3

  1. Tap the Application screen icon
  2. Select Settings > Wireless & networks > NFC.

Connect your XperiaTM device to the SRS-BTV5 speaker

To find out how to connect your XperiaTM device to your speaker, choose your operating system:

Android 4.0 and 4.1

  1. On the speaker, turn NFC on by moving the switch to the centre - you don't need to turn the speaker on to do this.
  2. On your XperiaTM device, tap the Application screen icon and select Settings
  3. On your XperiaTM device, select More and check NFC Allow data
  4. Touch your XperiaTM device on the speaker's NFC detection area - this is indicated by the (N-mark). When the devices connect, the Bluetooth indicator stops flashing and will remain lit while the two devices are connected.

Android 2.3

  1. On the speaker, turn NFC on by moving the switch to the centre - you don't need to turn the speaker on to do this.
  2. On your XperiaTM device, tap the Application screen icon and select Settings > Wireless & networks > NFC
  3. On your XperiaTM device, check the NFC checkbox.
  4. Touch your XperiaTM device on the speaker's NFC detection area - this is indicated by the (N-mark). When the devices connect, the Bluetooth indicator stops flashing and will remain lit while the two devices are connected.

One-touch listening troubleshooting

If the XperiaTM phone or tablet does not connect with the other device:

  • Make sure NFC is turned on in your XperiaTM device:
    • Tap the Application screen icon
    • Select Settings > Wireless & networks > NFC
    • Check the NFC checkbox.
  • Make sure the screen of the XperiaTM device is unlocked
  • Remove the charger if you are charging the XperiaTM device
  • Make sure the camera is turned off on your XperiaTM device
  • Remove the charger if you are charging the speakers or headphones you are trying to connect to
  • If your XperiaTM device does not vibrate, turn of NFC and turn it on again. Move your XperiaTM device close to the (N-mark) on the output device to reconnect
  • Depending on the XperiaTM device you are using, the NFC sensitivity might not be strong enough to connect the device with just one touch. Keep touching the speaker or headphones with your XperiaTM device until your XperiaTM device vibrates.
If your XperiaTM is in a protective case and does not react to the touching:
  • If your XperiaTM device does not vibrate, turn of NFC and turn it on again. Move your XperiaTM device close to the (N-mark) on the output device to reconnect.
