Sigfrid Eggers | Belgium

"Trying to create order in a world full of chaos."

Sigfrid Eggers began his career at De Morgen as a photographer, where he initially focused on capturing daily current events. After a few years he made the switch to the world of magazines, where he specialised in taking portraits and reports for various Flemish magazines. His focus was always on capturing people, with a preference for portraits and reportage, rather than products or landscapes. These assignments and accompanying publications resulted in commercial assignments.

It was his passion for cycling that eventually led him to found Bahamontes, a cycling magazine of which he is co-founder and owner. His experience in photographing riders for various magazines, combined with his love of racing, formed the basis for this project.

As a result of his work in the cycling world, Sigfrid Eggers was commissioned to take the official team photos for Quickstep, one of the most famous cycling teams in the world. This assignment eventually resulted in two books sold worldwide that provide a unique look behind the scenes of the life of a cycling team.
