My name is Alexander Wieck and I am a passionate photographer from southern Germany. Landscape and street photography has fascinated me for years now and I love to explore and capture these moments as images.

I went to Barcelona recently to see the amazing work of architect Antoni Gaudí who built several houses and sculptures around the city. Among his most impressive works are the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Casa Mila and Casa Batllo.

I was fortunate enough to take the new FE 20-70mm f/4 G with me. It's a perfect lens for street and landscape photography, being compact and lightweight. While the 20mm is wide enough to shoot buildings or take amazing photos from one of the several viewpoints above Barcelona, the 70mm gives great flexibility if more focal distance is needed. It feels good in the hand and balanced beautifully with my Alpha 7 IV.

As I was strolling around the small alleys of the Barri Gòtic quarter I was pretty impressed with how light this lens actually is. At just 488g, it is significantly lighter than the 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master I usually use. It handles like a dream and with the maximum aperture of f/4, I was still able to shoot in fairly low light.

The focus was always precise and super fast with its amazingly good eye AF. Overall it's a great everyday lens and I was able to keep all my other lenses in the hotel room, using only the 20-70mm for the whole trip. Overall, I have to say I really enjoyed going out with just a single lens and camera and walk through the beautiful streets of Barcelona.
