Sjoerd is a documentary and outdoor filmmaker from The Netherlands. As a youngster, he started skateboarding at the local skatepark and quickly realised that capturing his friends skateboarding was where his passion lay. He picked up an old Sony VHS camera, slapped on a fisheye lens, and started experimenting. Many years later, this innocent hobby turned into a passion that would take him all over the world to record intimate stories and capture beautiful images. Sjoerd's work involves (branded) documentaries in extreme environments, such as a two-week sailing expedition in freezing temperatures above the polar circle, but also TV series for national television.
